What I'm reading: No Excuses (bow to the mighty iTunes)

My #1 reason for not reading is a lack of time. When I do have free time I'd much rather be hanging out with friends or napping rather than reading. I've had 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad' on my list of 'must-read' books now for 2 years and had never read it... boy was that stupid!

I was on iTunes, which is my secret obsession, when I ran across 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad' on iTunes audio! With one swift 'buy' click and 10 bucks later, I was the owner of the book I'd meant to read for years. I hit 'play' as I edit away on some engagement images, and began to learn why I'm poor. Wow, how depressing and educational all at the same time.

If you're a business owner or not you should have this book on your shelf, or if you're like me, in your iPod! If you're like most of the population, you work your butt off and never get anywhere. Why? Well for one thing you own things like iPods... lol. No longer, I immediately had the urge to make a budget, start 'minding my own business' and making money, that I would otherwise spend on things like CD's & movies, work for me. As I evaluated my spending, I see a pattern for things like Netflix, lunch & dinner out, Best Buy (wow I need a Best Buy Support Group!) and random other things. I also noticed that my 'must have' list never seems to get any short, whereas my 'wants list' rotates all the time. If you see this own pattern in your life, or even if you want to expand your brain, I highly recommend this book. I'm constantly being asked if I know any good videographers and now I can honestly say that I know an INCREDIBLE film maker. Imagine the cool scenes in any major movie and that is the style this she captures! I met Scarlett a few weeks ago via an online forum for professionals in my industry and during those few weeks I've talked back and forth with her about her work & life. She's the kind of person you just want to know. An amazing artistic in her field with a truly unique style and I couldn't recommend her anymore. She's located in FL but will gladly travel anywhere. Wow, I never knew I was old until I tried to figure out MySpace... and I'm in my twenties! How Sad!!!

MTV Casting Call - Couples 18-21 yrs old

Engaged couples between the ages of 18-21

I've been in contact with someone through the MTV casting department and have been told of a casting call. MTV is looking for engaged couples between the ages of 18-21 (both must be between 18-21) to feature in a new documentary wedding series. If you are currently an engaged Ledford Photography couple or are interested in booked with us and would be interested in telling your story to MTV, please gives us a call or send us an email and we'll get you in contact with the casting department.

It's shoots like this that make me love my job! The day after booking their date, we headed to the woods of Alabama for Stephanie & Richard's engagement shoot.

Down in the ATL ya'll

Wow it's been an incredible few weeks & I'm really behind in blogging! I got the chance to hang out with some of Atlanta's top photographers, rock out at an awesome concert, meet with some fan-tab-ulous people from the Fox Theater & the Georgian Terrace and hang out with my new friends & wonderful photographers here in Chattanooga at the Chatt PUG meeting, following by pizza at Lupi's.

Atlanta was incredible! I've really grown to love Atlanta this past year since this wonderful career of mine has caused me to spend some real time there. Which is funny since I've lived an hour and half North of it most of my life. I had the chance to speak with planners and vendors at the Fox Theater & the Georgian Terrace Hotel (which are both absolutely fabulous!) I highly recommend considering either of those venues for your wedding!

I had the chance to attend a Keith Urban concert at the beginning of this month, which was really amazing, I must say. I can't count the number of rock concerts I've seen but that one was way better than any of those! www.keithurban.net

It's been an intense few weeks for sure. I have some big plans for couple, senior & family shoots during a 4-day weekend in Tybee Island coming up next month (We're thinking the 3rd weekend in Nov, whats better than November days at the beach!)
